Director of The Smart Materials Research Center will represent Russian synchrotron community in the European Synchrotron and Free Electron Lasers User Organisation (ESUO), that unites more than 30 thousand researchers from all over Europe. The general missions of ESUO are to coordinate the synchrotron and FEL radiation user activities in Europe and to provide support to the users in order to get access to synchrotron and FEL beamlines in Europe.

Currently, Russian government put a lot of efforts to develop collaboration between Russia and Europe in the field of Mega-Science facilities. This includes both the possibility for Russian scientists to make experiments in European organizations and the possibility for our European colleagues to use large scale scientific facilities in Russia. Southern Federal University has leading positions among the Russian scientific and educational organizations in using the leading European Mega-Science facilities in the field of synchrotron radiation. Our participation in ESUO will give a possibility to further extend our international research activity.
