On April 23rd the Smart Materials Research Center organizes International School for Young Scientists "Smart Materials and Mega-Scale Research Facilities". Students, PhD students and young Postdocs who do their research in the field of synthesis, characterization and computer modeling of materials are invited to participate. 

The aim of the school is to create a framework for the exchange of knowledge and skills in the field of material sciences between young scientists from Russia and Europe.

For school participants a lecture «Mega-Science Facilities for Characterization of Materials» will be given by Prof. Carlo Lamberti (University of Turin, Italy).

To participate in the school you have to submit your abstracts before April 16th.

All conference participants are expected to make an oral presentation. The deadline for thesis submission is 16.04.2018.

Interactive Open-Day of Smart Materials Center

On  April 24th we will organize an interactive Open-Day, where we will give a series of workshops on the laboratory facilities of our center. During these workshops the participants will be able to perform experimental investigation of their own samples by one of the following techniques:

  • X-ray diffraction (XRD)

  • Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)

  • X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XANES, EXAFS)

  • Surface area and porosity analysis (BET)

  • Dynamic light scattering (DLS)

  • UV-Vis spectroscopy

  • Supercomputer modelling
